How to Stabilize Turquoise DIY (Cheap & Easy)
Просмотров 8454 месяца назад
In this video I will demonstrate how I stabilize turquoise stones, by soaking them in an acetone and epoxy mixture. I also use a cheap brake bleeder pump to apply a vacuum to the jar. Stabilizer Ratio (see references): 473mL acetone to 25mL 2 part epoxy (Dual syringe type, one part hardener, one part resin, total volume 25mL) I used significantly less than this, but the same general ratio for t...

Best Day of Crab Fishing and Crabbing at Newport Beach, California
Просмотров 867Год назад
A winter cold front makes for a fun afternoon of crabbing at Newport Beach. Landed lots of little crabs, and a few actual rock crab keepers. Large Crab ring net: amzn.to/3W6X4SH Small Crab ring net: amzn.to/3YgEQQE I've caught crab off Newport and Balboa Piers with both styles. The small one is very light and easy to store, but large crabs can climb out of it. I recommend adding a squirrel feed...

Best Asian Tiger Mosquito Trap Ever - Biogents BG-Mosquitaire
Просмотров 8 тыс.Год назад
The Biogents BG-Mosquitaire (amzn.to/3QsIfH8) has worked really well for me to catch and kill Asian Tiger Mosquitos here in California. Over the course of approximately 1 month, it has cut down drastically on the number of mosquitos and has made my backyard much more enjoyable. No poison sprays needed (I grow fruit and vegetables and avoid toxic sprays if possible), just a power source and an a...
Best GRASS LAWN Alternative - Lippia (Phyla Nodiflora)- Drought Tolerant, California Native, & Cheap
Просмотров 11 тыс.2 года назад
I converted my thirsty, sprinkler-fed, grass lawn into a lush, pollinator-friendly, native ground cover lawn using Lippia aka Phyla Nodiflora aka Frog Fruit plant. I first tried Yarrow without much success, then put in drip irrigation and planted Lippia. Cheap (less than $20/flat), stands up to light-moderate walking, requires very little water, loves sunshine and heat, and stays green year-rou...

San Gabriel Mountains: Canyon Exploration Trip
🔥
It’s in the riverbed
Which riverbed?
Add corn meal with lots of garlic powder and little water cook it it gets hard like rubber. Put it in a long sock and tie it on trap. Works great.
Thanks for the tip!
The 30 minute epoxy cures slower but is thinner. Also all epoxy can be heated to 180F after a day or so of cure and the heat will increase the clarity and hardness. WentSystem has lots of info on the different exoxy formulations.
what kind of mpg do you get on highways speeds 75+ before and after ?
Thank you for the video Sir @IzzakWalton. Are there also Lippia seeds instead of small plants?
Yes, I believe so
they upgrade sense then in ali
They existed in the U.S. forever. Here in the east coast we have the same type. Perhaps we can also call it American mosquitoes!
No, not forever. See the timeline here: cisr.ucr.edu/invasive-species/asian-tiger-mosquito
Is this legal ?? Cause I wannna go
I’ll make my way there asap. Just moved to Valley Center so it’s now not super far from home. Nice vid. 🤙🏼
Is this spot still around ?
Haven't been back in years
How big of a impact to these make? They're horrible at my place. I've eliminated all water sources on my property. I've resorted to spraying which I don't like doing. I've tried Inzecto traps, Dynatrap, Catchmaster final feed (seems to work well for non toxic alternative).
I found out the eggs can last 2 years in dormancy! I hate these things.
Link is not working can you send me the name of drone?
I realized that when i use the scanner fish finder in the coast it doesnt appear the yellow mark of CAST
We call that frogfruit here in Florida. We use it to replace all the grass in one part of the yard and all of backyard. We also use sunshine mimosa to replace the grass on side of the house. All drought tolerant. All need no chemicals. All require no mowing. All have bees that love them.
Yes! Frogfruit, lippia, phyla nodiflora, great stuff.
Where did you get it for $20/flat?
Do you need a fishing license to catch crabs at Newport Beach, CA?
thank you
I'm planning on putting in a 15x15 area of phyla nodiflora. Any advice for a tool to use to dig holes for the plugs? And how many plugs did you use for your space?
I spread the plugs out by about 10 in to a foot. Of course, denser planting will cover the area faster. I used a hand shovel, and also used a drill bit digging attachment. Both seem to work
Are you still happy with everything? Any other project solar customers have any comments?
Panels are still producing, have had the original installers come out to address some leaks that were then fixed under warranty, overall so far so good
I’ve always gotten skunked doing this lol
just went today 4-12-24. there is no fish at all lol
Great video...👍
Bro this look too 90s ish . There's way better options out there now.
Which ones do you recommend?
Hi there, I am planning to use Lippia too but i worry about how many bees it would attract.
That looks like a great time. Thanks for sharing!
It was! Thanks for watching!
Blue line aftma?
How long did you let it sit down there before you decided to pull it up?
Anywhere from10 to 20 minutes
I planted 30 plants and rhe bunnies ate it. Any suggestions?
Sorry to hear that - I haven't dealt with rabbits.
I plan on going to Kauai in February. Where do I make reservations for snorkeling as a first-timer?
I haven't heard of reservations for snorkeling...I just went out into the water with snorkel gear. That being said, as a first-timer, you might want to find a guide.
I'm so confused... I've seen Lippia in some videos looking big and in other videos looking small. both With flowers
Thanks for review. Can you fit a carry-on luggage in it? Thx
I think so?
Trying to keep it vague, is the Bay Area?
Nope! SoCal
Rather jarring your pronunciation of lippia and kurapia.... I've watched several videos about each and I've only heard, "LIP pee uh" and "ker OP ee uh" 🤷🏼♀️
Used to go fishing there constantly in high school, late 1980's.... trout, catfish, bluegill....
Bummer. Wish it was more accessible and loaded with fish
What time of day did you go?
I love Azusa canyon
Do you know what range does it cover? I tried finding it online but I don’t seem to find anything
From the company’s german FAQ: Standard traps without CO2 cover approx. 540-1100 square feet. Standard traps with CO2 cover approx. 1100-6500 square feet. From their english FAQ: There are many different criteria that influence the catch rate such as mosquito population, breeding waters, resting places, coppice, climate, surroundings, etc. As such, it’s hard to give a reliable indicator. Depending on whether your garden has a lot of plants or not, you may need a different number of traps for the same area. But, as a general rule, one BG-Mosquitaire trap covers roughly the area of one average-sized house and garden. Mosquitoes often fly around their surroundings in search of a host, and sooner or later they will pass by a well-placed trap running 24/7.
Have you tried octenol or lurex3 attractants?
Yeah, no luck with the asian tigers
These are zebra perch!
Is Lappia atractive to squirrels as clover is?
I haven't seen the tree squirrels bothering it.
I've been playing fly fishing simulator HD for a while now. I made a fly that catches big trout my pb brown trout is 23inches pretty big.
We don't call them pickup trucks anymore; they're douche-dozers.
I'm from so Cal too. How long have you noticed these mosquitos? I first started nothing the bites in 2015. I didn't know what they were but thy gave a me a bad reaction. Finally decided to look them up in 2017 and found out what they were called then called the local LA county vector. I thought they were going to spray or do something. Nope I had to then look online for a pesticide called TalstarP. It worked for a while but they come back every summer starting May to November. Spraying is annoying and it doesn't last long anymore so I just a bought an electric fly swatter and used myself as bait. Id go outside, put some high white socks, and watch them come to me and kill them. I kill over 100+ to 200+. It must have made an effect because I killed over 100+ last year and didn't see them this year until August after the floods.
Love this! Thank you for the detailed information. I am in Central OK and have this planted in spots. Husband still likes his Bermuda lawn (EEK!) but we have about 1/4 acre of frog fruit. Had no idea it was so easy to propagate. Will this do well on a slop as well ?
Glad it was helpful!
Just saw a sidewalk area with these. Looked beautiful.
Yes they are!
Hey, do you wish you got a taller box at all?
I have 2 li & 2 lang . In reno nv . They blossom a lot . But the blossoms drop & get yellow & disappear . I water about 9 times a week . Do you think this is the problem ? . Prefer no water ?
Prospectors, uncultured immigrants, locals, “hood rats” who tell it like “it is”, white trash, low lives, little ones and their entitled parents, families carrying all the Walmart plastic excrement for a day of sunscreen, Hawaiian Punch, and fritolay joy. Society is excrement.
These things made it horrible to go to your patio or backyard in California. Sucks!
